Isekai Quartet

Isekai Quartet is a series that stems from 4 different sources and features different anime characters and their crossovers. It’s not an independent anime series. We haven’t come across many anime series like that of Isekai Quartet, and we can feel the hype around the series as all the fans of different anime featured in this anime series will be watching it.

From its title, it is evident that the Isekai Quartet features Isekai Anime like Konosuba, Overlord, Saga of Tanya the Evil, and Re:Zero. Also, the characters in this series are “chibified.” ADORABLE! It’s not going to give the serious vibe that some of the anime featured in it had. So without further ado, let’s get started! Today, we’ll be doing an in-depth review of this series and let you know if it’s worth watching or not.

The story of this series involves the characters present in Overlord, Re:Zero, Saga of Tanya the Evil, and Konosuba. All of them are going about their day, and it’s a pretty typical day for them until a strange red button appears before them out of nowhere. Now, all the characters are curious about the button.

They end up pressing it and getting transferred to a whole new world where all of them are together. They have no way of escaping from that bizarre world, so they decide to lead an everyday school life while socializing.

The story of this anime series stands out even if it’s a crossover. From the plot, it is evident that the characters are going to be in a school setting. There’s no concept of school in their respective anime, but in this anime, it’s fun seeing how these characters act around each other in a school. The episodes are super short and feature skit stories that are extremely fun to watch. It includes many comedy scenes, which makes the series all the more pleasant and fun to watch.

We’ve noticed how hell breaks loose in the anime (in a funny way) when characters like Subaru, Ainz, Tanya, and Kazuma are together. Tanya and Ainz resemble each other significantly because of their overpowered nature. On the other hand, Kazuma and Subaro are both pretty weak but are not similar to each other. Kazuma is more like a funny and good-for-nothing hero in his world. On the other hand, Subaru is very serious and a true Dark Fantasy hero who is not that powerful but had to go through a lot. So it’s fun to see the interaction between these characters and their relationship with others in the series.

This anime series provides many opportunities for comedy. As it opens in a  school setting, comedic elements are bound to be there no matter what. There are many events at the school that give rise to a lot of funny and cute moments. We noticed in this series that despite being extremely funny, the characters retain their original personalities, which is highly impressive.

So, overall, the story sounds exciting and worth watching. We loved everything about it, so it’s a 10/10!

As we’ve already mentioned, despite being a funny series, Isekai Quartet retains the original personalities of the characters present in it. Their chemistry is on another level, and they don’t seem to be from different anime series. However, they do have more comedic elements in their personalities now. The best thing with the characters was their interaction with each other. Their interaction contributes to a lot of exciting situations and circumstances.

We especially loved the characters from Konosuba because they contributed a lot to the comedy. All of the characters from Konosuba naturally fit in this anime series more than any other character. So, overall, the characters are done pretty well, and they don’t feel out of place even once. The chibi versions of the characters seem even more adorable.

The creators of this series used the chibi art style. That’s the only option left when you’re trying to lend in a bunch of characters from 4 different anime series. So, we can’t complain about that. Since this anime series was supposed to be funny and light, the chibi art style goes well with the theme.

The art style makes the characters blend in well, and they don’t feel weird or out of place.  The colors used are very bright and pleasing, just how a comedy anime series should have. So, we liked the art style as it gave the series a cute and funny vibe. It’s a 10/10 from our side!

The soundtrack we’re provided with is very basic, and there’s nothing much to notice about it. The background music goes well with the overall theme of the anime. The voice acting is done well and in a cute way as well which we absolutely loved.

The main male protagonists sing the opening soundtrack, and the ending soundtrack is sung by the female characters from the four series. They’re both light and adorable! Both of them are pretty enjoyable but they’re not memorable.

The concept of blending in 4 of the most popular isekais in a single series is fascinating. If you’re looking for something short and sweet to watch, we recommend watching Isekai Quartet! We loved each episode, and it made us laugh so much.
