Isekai Quartet 2
We’re back with Isekai Quartet 2 now! Isekai Quartet season 1 impressed us greatly with its perfect balance and the flawless blending of different characters from different anime series. It isn’t an easy job doing so. There are a lot of openings for messing up. However, the creators of ISekai Quartet nailed it without a doubt!
Is Isekai Quartet 2 as good as ISekai Quartet 1? Let’s look for the answer to this question in our in-depth review of Isekai Quartet Season 2!
In the school, they’re forced to join the characters are given specific tasks to complete. Despite having completed all of those tasks, our characters still can’t go home and escape the bizarre world; they’re stuck. They still need to fulfill a lot of duties to be perfect students. Our characters have spent a lot of time together, and they’ve started enjoying each other’s company. However, there’s a mysterious new transfer student that will contribute to the progress of the story. Their weird school life continues with bizarre circumstances every day!
We get to see a bunch of new characters in this new season. Chomusuke is the new transfer student that is introduced in this season. Other than Chomusuke, we see Naofumi, Filo, and Raphtalia from Rising of the Shield Hero. We get to see a massive improvement in creativity with the introduction of certain new characters. Many characters who were not getting much screen time in the previous one are given a chance to shine in this season are given an opportunity to shine in this season. We also get to see the character development of characters like Beatrice from Re:Zero.
The best moments from the series were the clash between the characters with different personalities. There are also some hilarious moments when Aqua is overconfident, and her confidence backfires immediately. Filo is one such character who everyone at school loves. It’s not a surprise for us, though. What’s more shocking is how Naofumi can trust people at school. We can’t really digest that.
One quirk about Season 2 is despite introducing the characters from Rising of the Shield Hero; they did not give the characters enough screen time when they were supposed to get some limelight in the new season.
They literally look like some side characters when they could’ve been an essential part of the series. Other than that, season 2 for Isekai Quartet is perfect. We love the cute moments between so many diverse characters, having different personalities and outlooks. So, just like Isekai Quartet 1, Isekai Quartet 2 succeeded in impressing us as well! The creators did a great job with writing the story and executing it well.
As we’ve mentioned before, there are many new characters in this series; Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo from Rising of the Shield Hero and Chomusuke, Megumin’s demonic cat from Konosuba. Chomusuke instantly becomes everyone’s favorite because of its cuteness.
Rising of the Shield Hero characters didn’t get enough screen time and had very few lines in each episode. In Isekai Quartet 2. Both Seiya and Ristarte, two characters from another Isekai anime, make an appearance in the series. We remember them making an appearance in only 3-4 episodes with one or two lines.
Overall, the quality of the characters was excellent as it was in the first season. The addition of new characters from other isekai series was also delightful. So, we don’t have much to complain about.
Animation for this season is precisely the same as the first season. The characters look incredibly adorable and clean. The colors used are very eye-catching and pleasing. There’s also fluidity in their movements, and the quality of the animation is fantastic. So, the animators did a great job retaining the quality of the animation for the second season as well.
The opening and Closing soundtracks are as pleasing as the first season. They go well with the school theme and are pretty enjoyable. Though they are not very memorable, it’s always nice hearing such adorable soundtracks every time!
Isekai Quartet 2 is pretty enjoyable if you’re watching it for the sake of fun. It’s very short, so it’s binge-able as well. We loved how more characters were introduced in the second season, but it would’ve been better if the new characters got some screen time. Overall, we loved the second season as much as we loved the first one!
