Never judge a book by its cover. We've all heard this adage, and this tale thoroughly explains it. A person's appearance should never be used to judge them. They can look intimidating or half dead but might have a heart of gold underneath that rotting skin. However, this tale helps us perceive individuals and their characteristics from a new angle.

The Faraway Paladin is an anime television series based on the same-named light novel series. Anime announcements were made on April 17, 2021. Children's Playground Entertainment created the animation for the series, which Yuu Nobuta directed. Tatsuya Takahashi oversaw the writing, Koji Haneda created the character designs, and Ryūichi Takada and Keigo Hoashi from MONACA made the music. It was shown on Tokyo MX, AT-X, and BS NTV from October 9, 2021, until January 3, 2022. Medialink licensed the show in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the rest of Oceania and co-licensed it with Disney+ through Star content hub in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and a few other Southeast Asian nations.

The 12 episodes of this anime ran 23 minutes each, covering the action, adventure, and fantasy genres. Isekai and reincarnation were its themes, and it was rated PG-13 for teens aged 13 and up. The author of the light novel series is Kanata Yanagino, while Kususaga Rin is the illustrator. The website Shōsetsuka ni Narō, which publishes user-generated novels, started serializing online in May 2015. Later, Overlap bought it, and since March 2016, their Overlap Bunko imprint has released four volumes. J-Novel Club obtained a license to publish the series in English. Since September 25, 2017, a manga adaptation featuring Mutsumi Okuhashi's artwork has been published online at Comic Gardo. Eight tank-bon volumes have been used to gather it. It is also being published in English by J-Novel Club.

A lone human infant dwells in a city of the dead that has long since been destroyed and is removed from human civilization. Will, our protagonist, is nurtured by three undead: Blood, a brave skeletal warrior; Mary, a graceful mummified priestess; and Gus, a stern spirit sorcerer. The three shower the kid affectionately and impart all their knowledge to him. Will, though, starts to question his identity one day. Will needs to discover the secrets of this remote dead man's farm and learn about the hidden histories of the undead. He must understand the good gods' compassion and love and the evil ones' prejudice and craziness.

The youngster will start along the road to becoming a paladin after he has gained all of the necessary knowledge.

"I kept my commitment. I'll tell you everything, but it will take some time. This is the tale of the many heroes that perished. You were raised here because of the tale of our demise."

William G. Maryblood is a lone human from the City of the Dead who was nurtured by the gang of undead until adulthood and was born with hazy recollections of a previous existence. To help others in need and rekindle confidence in his guardian deity, he took an oath to Graceful and set out to see the outside world. William has a sincere and kind nature. He is concerned about the welfare of others and is driven to assist those in extreme need. Another thing that struck me was how frequently the main character required assistance, whether from his closest buddy, guardian goddess, or other adventure companions. Blood, Mary, and Augustus are among the zombies that raise William in the City of the Dead. Up to adulthood, they all taught him various martial, survival, and academic talents that they had individually honed.

The protagonist hasn't disclosed much about himself, there's not much to say about him, and he hasn't shown off his personality yet. Meneldor is William's most dependable buddy and is an outcast half-elf. On his training and trips, he frequently goes along. Half-elf Meneldor has silver hair and eyes the color of jade. His elven traits are what make him beautiful. He is aware of people noticing his feminine aura, especially when they are making fun of him.

The character designs are lovely and unique, and the undead looks fantastic. Yes, the animation is beautifully done, but it could be smoother because there are monologues and knowledge dumps going throughout them. This is favorable because it does not take the battle out of its proper setting. The characters are fantastic, the zombie parents may appear terrifying, but they do a great job of reminding us that despite their appearance, they were once people, making it easy for us to relate to them.

The music is quite enjoyable. The Sacred Torch by H-el-ical serves as the game's opening theme, and Nagi Yanagi's "Shirushibi" (Mark of Fire) is the game's closing theme.

Let's talk about the anime’s creator, who Mushoku Tensei greatly influenced. In this anime, which has excellent animation and a beautiful soundtrack, we witness how the anime came to be. Additionally, you can see the creator's passion for Mushoku Tensei in his concentration on creating a protagonist with a highly distinct personality and his attempts to avoid making the same mistakes he did in his past existence. I've watched hundreds of anime, and most of them are clones of one another, competing to have larger breasts or expose more skin. I'm thrilled that this one is special.

We could also have another formidable isekai rival here, thanks to this fantastic anime, which has had a tremendous start if it continues and adapts the remainder of the plot appropriately. I urge all Isekai admirers to try it. You could still enjoy a lot of this even if Isekai isn't your thing, but you still enjoy fantasy and creative world-building. Recommended.
