The Isekai genre is trendy in anime. Let us explain it to you. It means to get transported to another world from one’s own. The world those characters are transported to is full of magic and fantasy. That makes this genre all the more exciting and intriguing.

Cautious Hero is one such anime that involves the isekai theme and is one of the best anime from the isekai genre. Though we’ve seen many anime that resembles Cautious Hero in various ways, let’s just talk about how this anime is different from other anime that features the isekai theme.

Seiya Ryuuguuin gets summoned to another world by a goddess named Ristarte. Ristarte wanted Seiya to save her world, Geabrande, from destruction. Seiya decides to help her and starts preparing for the battle. He’s already so overpowered, but you can never be too careful, according to him.

He spends hours and hours training when he doesn’t even need it. This makes Ristarte worry as she believes that Seiya is too overpowered for anyone in her world. On the other hand, Seiya uses his most vital skills to eliminate some of the weakest enemies and buys unnecessary supplies to keep himself safe. Will he be able to save  Geabrande with this attitude?

The anime title pretty much sums up everything that happens in the anime. The story of the anime is hands down, incredibly hilarious. It appears less like an anime and more like a gag show. Each episode features a fascinating story that keeps us hooked to the anime and makes us want to watch the series all the time. This is the kind of show that doesn’t require any mental dexterity. It’s going to make you laugh even with its ridiculous action scenes.

The storytelling aspect is very straightforward. There are no plot holes or twists in this anime series, and everything goes smoothly with an abundance of comedy and stupidity. You might find the standard isekai with an overpowered main character a bit boring at first. However, this series is far from being boring.

Cautious Hero is not original, and we’re not claiming that it’s authentic here. There are tons of anime with the isekai genre and an overpowered main character. But what makes this isekai different from the others is the presence of the “Cautious Hero.”

The fact that the hero is highly overpowered but still does not shy away from training some more or buying supplies just in case he’s about to get killed is very interesting. The presence of our comical goddess, Ristarte, also contributes a lot to the story. Sometimes we might think that the series is taking a serious turn, but it is, in fact, nothing else but comedy.

Overall, the story is promising and intriguing. It lacks some originality, but to be honest, we don’t care. As long as we’re having fun and are laughing, we have no complaints!

Seiya is an overpowered protagonist who appears promising at first but has no personality. Nobody can tell what he’s thinking. And no matter how nice Ristarte is to him, he’d still treat her like a nobody, even though she’s a literal goddess. As far as his personality is concerned, selfishness is definitely there. He puts his safety first and doesn’t care if Ristarte lives or dies. If we compare a plank of wood with Seiya, there would be no difference. We often start confusing Seiya with a villain and not a hero because of his choice to use his abilities.

Ristarte appears to be a very naive and dumb girl who falls hopelessly in love with Seiya. She might feel annoying at first, but we can’t ignore the fact that the series is funny and exciting only because of her presence. Her dumb moves never fail to make us laugh at her. Especially her inner monologue, which is highly hilarious.

As far as the side cast is concerned, they’re fascinating and colorful as well. Their presence gives a pleasant twist to the story. We believe that Seiya’s character could’ve been improved because he isn’t likable, no matter how we look at him. So, with the characters, the creators did a great job.

The animation is clean and straightforward, with no CGI or other complexities. The character designs are gorgeous, and they all look outstanding. The action scenes are very fluid and impactful. There’s a good use of bright colors that are highly pleasing to the eyes. The animators did a phenomenal job animating everything so cleanly and flawlessly. So, it’s a 10/10 in the animation department.

Cautious Hero is known for having diverse music. The opening song has two versions that make it more visually and audibly pleasing to the fans. TIT for TAT is the opening song by MYTH & ROID, and even the ending songs are just excellent. They sound incredibly catchy as well. That’s how good they are! You're going to find yourself humming the opening and the ending soundtrack randomly during your day.

We’d recommend you to watch this anime series! Cautious Hero secures a high spot in the isekai genre despite being unoriginal. The series is delightful and also not too long so that you can binge-watch it.
