Aldnoah.Zero
Have you ever wished to pilot a giant mecha and fight the bad guys as a kid with your friends? You can respond, "As children?” I'd still like to do it!" You are entirely correct! We've all seen GUNN, Edge of Tomorrow, and Ironman and always wanted to put ourselves in high-tech mech suits.
“Aldnoah Zero” (Japanese: アルドノア・ゼロ, Arudonoa Zero) is an original anime series that was brought to life by A-1 Pictures, TROYCA, and it was produced by Aniplex, Movic, Nitroplus, Houbunsha, MAGES., Tokyo MX, Asahi Broadcasting, BS11 and aired in July 2014. TGen Urobuchi wrote the screenplay, which Ei Aoki directed, and included mechanical designs by Kenji Teraoka, characters by Masako Matsumoto, and designs by Takako Shimura. Urobuchi wrote the first three episodes of the first season, after which Katsuhiko Takayama took over and finished the remaining nine. The anime series consists of 12 episodes, each lasting 23 minutes. Its genres are Action and Sci-Fi, with Mecha and Military as key themes. It is rated R and is suitable for teens aged 17 and above. The first season of Aldnoah will be released on home video by Aniplex of America. Zero during its A-Kon panel.
After finding new alien technology on Mars (named "Aldnoah"), settlers declared unilateral independence from Earth to establish the Vers Empire. During the Apollo 17 mission in 1972, an ancient extraterrestrial relic known as the "Hypergate" was discovered on the surface of the Moon, enabling near-instantaneous transport to and from Mars and Mars colonization.
Later, the Vers Empire declared war on Earth, and in 1999, a fight on the Moon's surface blew up the Hypergate, breaking the Moon and spreading its pieces into a debris belt around Earth. When the Vers Imperial Army was cut off from Mars, it erected numerous large orbital space stations within the debris belt, and a ceasefire was negotiated. An attack on the First Princess of Vers during a diplomatic journey to Earth 15 years later, in 2014, prompts the Empire and its 37 clans of Orbital Knights to launch a new invasion on Earth, this time determined to seize it once and for all.
The main protagonist, a student, named Inaho, is attending Shinawara High School. He is at the top of his class. He lives with his elder sister, Yuki, before the start of the war on which the plot is focused. When the battle begins, he and his peers join the United Forces of Earth in the struggle against the Vers. His emotionless, stoic manner distinguishes him; also, he has tremendous resourcefulness in battle, frequently designing lethal ways to beat the Martian Knights. He has a brilliant mind, yet he struggles to relate to others and express himself. At moments, the protagonist, Inaho, appears to be lacking in personality and feeling. His emotional detachment, piloting abilities, and intelligence have made him a tactical genius.
Asseylum is the Vers Empire's, First Princess. She is very close to Slaine, one of the story's main characters, and is eager to learn about Earth. Her motorcade is assaulted when she is on a diplomatic visit to Earth, and she is presumed dead. Asseylum is a pacifist and idealist. She believes in diplomatic solutions and views the inhabitants of the Earth positively. Unlike many Martians, she appears to regard Earthlings as equal beings.
Asseylum is sympathetic, compassionate, and kind-hearted. She is, nevertheless, naive. Asseylum also seems to have a forceful and determined personality. She is not very guarded in the presence of others, instead being open and welcoming. Asseylum appears to value the safety of others over her own and takes her role as Princess of VERS seriously. Slaine is very friendly with and loyal to Princess Asseylum Vers Allusia. He is more than eager to fight to save Princess Asseylum.
While the character growth appears to be fair, the relationship development seems to be shallow. And the thought of an eight-year-old child serving as the royal princess's bodyguard/assistant sounds dubious and impossible. "War" is a contentious term. People join armies for many reasons. A few examples are oppression, freedom, and imperialism. However, fighting a war for existence might occasionally become an unavoidable necessity. That conflict took place in 2015 in Aldnoah Zero.
Aldnoah. Zero is A-1 Studio's first mecha anime and a clear tribute to the Gundam series, and it succeeds in generating incredibly unique and intriguing action scenes. The narrative of this program is basic, yet many things around it make it distinctive on its own. What this show accomplishes with the mecha genre is brilliant. Instead of "super badass OP mecha," the trained warriors progressively use strategy and preparation to defeat their overwhelming opponents.
Furthermore, Gen Urobuchi's plot setup and scripting of the series' significant events are as engaging and entertaining as ever. This anime is a beautiful spoof of typical cliches in old mecha shows we used to watch as kids years ago.
The high production standards, copious levels of collateral damage, questionably dull characters, and contentious finale are reminiscent of the previous DC Comics films based on Superman.
Hiroyuki Sawano composed the series' music. The first soundtrack album, comprising 20 tunes and vocal performances by Aimee Blackschleger, Cyua, Mika Kobayashi, and mpi, was published on September 10, 2014. The second soundtrack CD has 19 tracks, including vocals by Sora Amamiya on "Harmonious." The first season's opening theme song was "Heavenly Blue," sung by Kalafina. The first season's ending theme songs were "A/Z" and "aLIEz," both performed by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:mizuki.
“But I don't like mecha anime because they're bad!” On the contrary, it is a fantastic anime that a Gundam fan must not miss. But the battle sequences are highly appreciated, as is the plot. It's highly recommended to grab your popcorn and sit through the series to binge-watch.
