Ishiyama High School is known for its delinquent students who know no rules. It is infested with them. The King of all of them is a first-year student, Tatsumi Oga, who everyone fears, even the scariest delinquent of the school. They would rather not cross the path Tatsumi Oga walked.

One day, Oga is chilling by a riverbed when he notices a man floating in the air and coming towards him. The man reveals a baby who clings himself to the back of Oga. Oga is confused by everything happening around him. The baby is actually the son of a Demon Lord named “Kaiser de Emperana”  or “Baby Bee.”

Oga also comes across the maid of Beelzebub named Hildegard. Both of them try to raise and take care of Beelzebub while surrounded by delinquents and enemies. Will they be able to take care of him?

The whole story of the series revolves around Oga’s frustration to get rid of the baby somehow, which makes the anime so comical. There are a lot of funny elements in the series, but we also notice some dark parts as well, which never last very long.

There’s no episode that we found boring. Each episode contains a bunch of funny incidents that make you want to watch it even more and more. Even though it might get quite repetitive, we still love how the story progresses. We don’t have to use our brains to watch this anime.

Beelzebub Anime Review

Beelzebub is not confined to only comedy. We also get to see a lot of fight scenes throughout the series as it progresses. It’s not really possible to have delinquents and no fight scenes, right? However, the fight scenes are always overpowered by the comedy scenes, which is only natural because it IS more of a comedy anime.

When we see anime that involves a lot of comedy, most of them are trying too hard and forcing themselves to be very funny, which takes away all the essence of the actual comedy. With Beelzebub, we’ve noticed that the comedy scenes are so natural. It is a masterpiece in the genre of comedy.

Beelzebub Anime Review

Overall, the story of Beelzebub is unique and exciting. It doesn’t make you bored, considering it’s a 60-episodes long series. Each episode is compelling and hilarious in its own way. So, it’s a 10/10 for us in the plot/story department.

Each character in Beelzebub plays a role in making the series extremely hilarious. They have their own space and functions. They do not feel out of place at all. They have their unique quirks and powers that differentiate them from other characters of the series.

Baby Beel is the cutest character of the series, both in Hell and on Earth. He constantly annoys Oga, and their interaction with each other is just priceless.

Oga is not your typical “shounen” character at all. He’s evil and ruthless. However, we also see his soft side developing when he gets to spend some time with Baby Beel. We can see a lot of character development with him.

Hilda is one such character that we’d love to see some more. We were expecting her to be a little cheerful and loving. But her character is icy, except for Baby Beel, of course. She’s very affectionate towards him.

All the other supporting characters are also delinquents like Oga and are funny in their own way. We don’t have any complaints in the Character department!

Beelzebub Anime Review

The animation for this anime is quite basic. It doesn’t catch our eye but is also not that bad. The colors that are used are pretty bright and go well with the theme of the anime. The character designs are pretty good. Some people might find them flat.

We’ve also noticed some fanservice in the anime, but it’s not that much, which we liked. Overall, the hilariousness of this anime series makes up for the lack of creative art and animation, so we’re not disappointed.

Beelzebub Anime Review

The background music of the anime is pretty average, nothing special about it. It features a bunch of opening and ending songs. Some of them are pretty average and forgettable, and some of them are pleasant. We liked the 3rd ending as it’s very catchy! However, the sounds were appropriate for the scenes and were executed ell.

Beelzebub Anime Review

Overall, Beelzebub is a fantastic comedy anime that is popular to date. If you’re in the mood to laugh, you need to watch this anime! It’s undoubtedly one of the best comedy anime out there and sets the bar very high for the upcoming anime series.
