We've all experienced times when our whole lives revolved around video games, junk food, and pets. What if something strong took all of that away, pulled you out of your comfort zone, and forced you to do something that made your skin crawl? Or perhaps you'd call it character development.
The Japanese anime series Romantic Killer (Romantikku Kirā) is based on Wataru Momose's Romantic Killer manga. The anime will start on October 27, 2022. Studio Domerica made it and will be directed by Kazuya Ichikawa. Arisa Matsuura is responsible for making the characters look good, while Ryo Kawasaki and Tomoyuki Kono are in charge of the music. Streaming of the Shueisha-produced series on Netflix began on October 27, 2022. From July 30, 2019, until June 2, 2020, Wataru Momose's Romantic Killer, written and illustrated, was serialized on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ website. On December 4, 2019, the first Tankōbon volume was made available. On March 4, August 4, and September 4, 2020, the second through fourth volumes were made available online. On October 4, 2022, the volumes were made available in print. Viz Media said in February 2022 that it had bought the rights to produce an English version of the series.
Anzu Hoshino, a high school student, enjoys a wonderful life. She indulges in munchies, plays video games, and pets her cherished cat every day. One day, Riri, a magician who calls himself "love cupid," appears before Anzu Hoshino. Riri hails from a planet where children are given aspirations and hopes, and then their pure souls are taken as energy in exchange. Riri is sent to help Anzu experience real-life love by giving her a group of "ikemen" to choose from. The aim is to prevent the birth rate from dropping, because men and women will have fewer opportunities to fall in love. Anzu was turned down because she had no interest in finding a real-life partner. Still, Riri took away her "three biggest desires," video games, chocolate, and her cat Momohiki, and planned a series of events to force Anzu into otome game-like scenarios in which she had no option.
Anzu decided to play Riri's "game." Still, she plans to get Riri to give up and free his "hostages" by avoiding any situations that could be romantically charged and going back to her everyday life. Along the way, Anzu makes real connections with the people who might become her romantic partners. She tries to protect them from Riri's plans, but she also cares about them. Teenage Anzu has fair skin, a thin body, and is about medium height. She has big, round red eyes and unruly red hair, pulled back into a ponytail, with bangs framing her sides. Anzu is a rational, direct, and extremely kind individual who can't abandon her friends when they're in need. She gives little thought to what other people think of her and always acts in accordance with her personal sense of morality.
Riri/Rio serves as the secondary protagonist of the Romantic Killer series. Riri manifests as a little, juvenile yellow monster. Riri is a rounded creature with small, rounded ears, slender limbs, and twig-like legs. Riri has a narrow, flat jaw; a canine-like nose; and small, round, black eyes. Riri can transform into a fair-skinned man or woman with blonde hair and cyan-blue eyes with a dash of purple on top through magic. Riri is extremely talkative and hyper, whether in their sorcerer creature or human form. Even though Anzu might find Riri annoying, they are very kind and do everything they can to make sure Anzu has a happy and romantic life. Throughout the story, Anzu and Riri's relationship gets stronger, and Anzu even starts to like the happy magician.
The MC rocks. She's an "anti-heroine," meaning she's not the traditional female protagonist of a romantic anime. She is hilarious, witty, and unconcerned with boys' attention, which is very lovely. As a result, she devotes more time to her pet, gaming, and friends, labeling herself a "romantic killer." Moreover, the plot is very clever. Even though the main character doesn't want to live in a dating sim, a magical force compels her to do so. As a result, the show's main character begins by attempting to sabotage the relationship that is being planned for her. After that, it develops into a charming tale of love and friendship.
Additionally, the show had some drama toward the end, which was fantastic. A strong comedic element runs through this new romantic comedy animation. The performance is enthusiastic despite the comedy's inconsistent quality. I adore how the artwork deviates from the norm and is overly sentimental. With that style of delivery, the humor hits you square in the face. In general, I really love the comedy. As the anime progressed, I got to see it grow up, which dispelled my concerns that it wouldn't ever handle the extremely delicate subject of limits and permissions with the care it deserved.
Most of the time, this show is bursting with excellent and stylish animation. "ROMA☆KiRA" by YURiKA serves as the show's opening theme, and Mikako Komatsu's "Romantic Love Renai Shimasen ka?" (Won't You Fall in Love) serves as the closing theme.
Romantic Killer is the best teen romance shoujo film currently in production. The main character knows when people are interested in her, but she doesn't let it go too far because she's not stupid or evil. She is strong enough to protect the helpless while remaining exposed. She cracks jokes about poop and pee, regardless of how ridiculous they are. Additionally, the chances for romance are fantastic! They're not toxic or enmity-filled adversaries. One has a murky past, but the other is a childhood friend who is emotionally stable enough to let other people love her. The secondary characters in Romantic Killer have their own stories to tell, but they are all connected to the protagonist in some way. It's hard to find a better watch than this one. Recommended!
