It is evident from history in the anime realm how stuffing down entire chapters of manga in just 11-12 episodes results in a disaster. Unfortunately, this is what happened to High-Rise Invasion. Over 250 chapters were squeezed into 12 episodes. No wonder the super rushed character development had trouble finding a proper place in this story, progressing at an awful pace.

God Eater’s start takes a ton of time, as it risks losing all of its fan following in hopes of doing proper world-building. However, it kicks it from 0 to 100 fast once done and grabs you right back in. As somebody who had loved the original games, I was excited to hear of it being adapted into an anime.

Finally, we have a VRMMO inspired anime that ACTUALLY makes sense. The writer knew very well what he was writing. On top of that, he had experience playing MMO games before. So, it's only natural for him to execute the anime incorporating the elements of RPG games very well. The writer understands how awful these games can sometimes be, so instead of making the game in the anime look realistic, he made it fun.
