Loveless (Raburesu)

What if all of one's favorite memories vanished every minute? Can you picture the terror of forgetting what is important to you? We have recollections at the end of the day. This may be why we are fond of photographing our happiest moments.

Loveless is concerned with "the power of words in shaping our world, the significance of memory, the strength of family, and the loss of innocence." Sometimes we come up with the strangest analogies to better describe things. Halfway through the first episode, you'll see what I mean. It is an anime series based on the same-named Japanese manga series. J.C.Staff created a 12-episode anime adaptation, which Bandai Visual, TV Asahi, and Movic produced.

It initially aired in Japan from April through June of 2005. In early 2006, Media Blasters licensed and published an English-subtitled version. On April 26, 2011, Media Blasters re-released the series under the title "Loveless: Vocal Collection" with an English dub. Tokyopop has also licensed the series in German. This 12-episode anime ran for 24 minutes every episode and was categorized as Action, Boys' Love, Drama, Mystery, and Supernatural, and it catered to the Josei demographic. It’s rated PG-13 for teens aged 13 and above.

His brother has just died, and to make matters worse, on his first day at the new school, he is contacted by a stranger named Agatsuma Soubi, who claims to have known his late brother. Ritsuka discovers that Agatsuma and his brother used to be rivals and that Agatsuma has inherited Ritsuga now that his brother is no longer alive.

They work together to uncover the truth about his brother's death and the group known as the "Seven Moons," which may have been involved. Meanwhile, Ritsuka and Agatsuma appear to be growing closer than they expected. In the universe of Loveless, everyone is born with cat ears and a tail that only disappears when they engage in sexual intercourse. As a result, they have come to represent virginity and innocence. Fighting is also only done in "fighting pairs" or couples, with one serving as the sacrifice and the other as the fighter. The first takes the harm, while the second assaults.

Ritsuka Aoyagi (Aoyagi Ritsuka) is the main character of the Loveless manga and anime series. Although Loveless is Ritsuka's "true" name, it has yet to emerge on his body like the names of other fighter and sacrifice couples. Ristuka frequently snaps pictures or "creates memories" to avoid forgetting people and being forgotten. Later in the series, his former schoolmate, Osamu, mentions that Ritsuka was a photography club member at his old school. When he first meets Soubi Agatsuma on his first day at a new school, he is perplexed by Soubi's sudden closeness and perplexing assertions that he is his brother Seimei's Fighter.

Ritsuka has trouble trusting others, and Soubi's inclination to withhold information from him generates friction between them. Despite this, they build a deep friendship as they battle the group Seven Moons to uncover the truth about Ritsuka's 'amnesia' and Seimei's death. Soubi Agatsuma (Agatsuma Soubi) is a blank Fighter and one of the characters of Loveless. When he was six years old, he lost both of his parents and enrolled at Shichisei Gakuen (Seven Moons Academy), a school for Fighters. Ritsu became a very significant character in Soubi's life, and it is Ritsu's severe training that developed Soubi to become the well-known warrior he is. Yet, their relationship was similar to that of a master and his slave, despite being teacher and pupil. Initially, his relationship with Ritsuka is fraught with misunderstandings and an unwillingness to communicate. Soubi is initially enigmatic, concealing information from Ritsuka and perplexing him with his conflicting conduct of claiming he'll do everything Ritsuka says and then disregarding key commands of his.

The Art of Loveless is excellent. The colors in this anime are really stunning. It's impressive how they depict Soubi as a butterfly in such gorgeous hues. All of the characters are well-drawn and incredibly attractive. Most of the characters are engaging and daring; most are self-proclaimed perverts. The sound is also excellent. The opening music is one that I usually listen to when I watch a show. They play incredibly wonderful background music when there are romantic moments during the season. The same is true for sorrowful times. The music complements the mood nicely. None of the voiceovers are bothersome!

On June 24, 2005, Geneon Entertainment published the anime's soundtrack. The CD includes the opening and closing themes and fifteen background music tracks. "Tsuki no Curse" was the opening theme, while "Michiyuki" was the closing theme; both were composed by Yuki Kajiura, orchestrated by Masayuki Sakamoto, and performed by Kaori Hikita. A voice album including songs sung by Konishi Katsuyuki, Junko Minagawa, and Jun Fukuyama was published on September 8, 2006.

Although the plot ran along nicely initially, things became somewhat muddled near the conclusion. It was straightforward at first. Ritsuka had lost his sibling, and his warrior Soubi had accompanied him since Semei had commanded him to. They also faced adversaries. It's easy to grasp. But then other characters appeared, raising far more questions, most of which were never answered. Some Loveless fans consider Soubi Agatsuma and Ritsuka Aoyagi's relationship to be shotacon. Despite their significant age difference, IGN believes Soubi and Ritsuka's romance is handled tastefully. Yun Koga said she does not "see it as yaoi" manga, although her "fans" do. Just a reminder for those in the rear rows. The novel's main narrative revolves around a twenty-year-old man in love with a twelve-year-old youngster. According to psychiatric terms, Soubi is not a pedophile.

Yet another weird anime. Overall, it's a fascinating animation. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea. However, you ought to give it a go if you’re okay with what it offers.
