Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout
Do you ever have a strong need for a girl's attention and feel so alone? You want it so badly that you begin to see your friends as women? Then I don't advise you to do this since you'll only wind yourself craving it more. But are you truly best friends if others don't mistake you and your best friend for a couple?
The anime television series "Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout" is based on a Japanese manga series created by Yu Tsurusaki and illustrated by Shin Ikezawa. Aoi Yamato created the characters, Toshimitsu Takeuchi handled the screenplay, OLM produced the show, Sayaka Yamai served as the director, and Takeshi Watanabe handled the soundtrack.
It was shown on TV Tokyo and BS TV Tokyo from January 12 to March 30, 2022. The series is available on Crunchyroll outside of Asia. Except for Australia and New Zealand, Medialink licensed the series across Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Oceania. Crunchyroll revealed the English dub for the show on July 20, 2022, and it debuted the next day.
This manga-based anime had 12 episodes, each running for 23 minutes, and fell in the adventure, comedy, and fantasy genres. The series was rated PG-13 for teens 13 and older and has themes of adult cast, gag humor, isekai, and magical sex shift. Yu Tsurusaki wrote the manga series, while Shin Ikezawa drew the pictures.
Since November 18, 2019, it has been published online on Cygames' manga website Cycomi. Shogakukan is publishing the series in tankobon volumes. On April 17, 2020, the first volume was made available. Seven volumes have been published as of June 2022. Seven Seas Entertainment has a license to print the manga in North America.
Tsukasa Jinguuji has had a lot of success dating women since they were both undergraduates, whereas Hinata Tachibana has had very little success owing to Jinguuji's intelligence. But although Jinguuji has never expressed interest in the opposite sex, Tachibana is always looking for a girlfriend. Even in their thirties as salarymen, they remain the closest of friends despite their extreme disparities.
The two were attending a mixer one evening when Jinguuji became the center of attention. Unknowingly, in his drunken rants, a frustrated Tachibana yearns to change into a lovely girl with enticing allure. Jinguuji and Tachibana are suddenly confronted by a goddess who, as if the gods were paying attention, transports them to another world where they will face the Demon Lord and grant Tachibana's request.
Tachibana, who now appears to be a perfect lady, has caught Jinguuji's eye due to her growing beauty. Tachibana also discovers Jinguuji's stunning attractiveness and understands why he is so well-known. Before anything else, the duo must complete their assignment; else, they risk becoming a prisoner to their desires for all time.
The characters are what stand out about this show; while the two main protagonists are close friends, there are other supporting characters that the show doesn't just drop into a scene whenever it feels like it. Because of this, their potential is utilized, and they perfectly match the show's chemistry. Even better, it's very uncommon for them to make subsequent appearances in the form of cameos or to reappear in prominent roles throughout the program following their initial debut.
This may be seen in characters like the Kirito archetype Schwartz, whose language and actions are an obvious parody of all the conventional heroes with a "cold" appearance and who can wield a sword. It's also seen in Tilolilo Lilili, an elf who is envious of Tachibana while being proud of her beauty.
There will likely be a lot of tension and teasing in this situation. Jinguuji is absurdly powerful, yet it is more complex than it seems. Tachibana appears to be ineffective yet possesses a practically unbeatable charisma. They encounter what one would ordinarily encounter in this fantastical world. In addition to a cast of elves, there are strange beasts, a farce of a country, and religious cults.
The creators and illustrators of this "boys love" series are a real married couple. This explains the honesty behind it. If this is an autobiographical portrayal of their love for one another incorporated into an anime, it wouldn't surprise me in the least.
What I enjoy most about this series is how the characters grow. They all have skills and weaknesses that lead to various circumstances, but they manage to get by with what they have. There isn't any of the "my past gives me superpowers" or "Friendship is magic" stuff going on here. It's also amusing to see how unconcerned they are with some of these issues.
The artwork is nothing exceptional, but it is nicely drawn, and the colors complement the various scenes in the show really well. Although a few frames appear odd, the animation is still solid!
Yoshiki Fukuyama's "Akatsuki no Salaryman" (Salaryman at Dawn) serves as the show's opening theme, while Luce Twinkle Wink's "FANTASY to!" serves as the show's closing theme. The voice acting, sound effects, and soundtrack are all excellent. It increased the entertainment value of the program.
However, as I mentioned at the beginning, many people may have some assumptions about a show that bases its premise on a "man turned woman." It is understood how unsettling it might be for a fan who hasn't become accustomed to this kind of material. Fantasy Bishoujo, on the other hand, is a genuinely funny anime that, like another comedy like Konosuba, delivers its viewers a lot of smiles everywhere and a 180-degree shift from what we often perceive as a standard isekai. It is a lighthearted romantic comedy about two bros in a hot tub, five feet apart. Let’s just say it’s recommended.
