Handyman Saitou in Another World
Even the most commonplace things may occasionally surprise us. Things that we take for granted might have incredible power for someone else. This tale demonstrates how something one person may not deem valuable may be incredibly beneficial to another. Ordinary becomes extraordinary in this particular Anime…
The manga series with the same name has an anime adaptation called ‘‘Handyman Saitō/Saitou in Another World’’. The anime TV series was revealed on January 19, 2022. It was produced by C2C and directed by Toshiyuki Kubooka, with screenplays written by Kenta Ihara, character designs by Yko Tanabe, and music composed by Tomotaka Sumi. The show aired on AT-X and other networks from January 8th to March 26th, 2023. Crunchyroll has also licensed the anime. It had 12 episodes and was based on the same-titled manga series. It is an adventure, comedy, and fantasy show with the themes of adult cast and Isekai. Each episode ran for 23 minutes and was rated R - Mature) for violence and language.
Kazutomo Ichitomo is the author and illustrator of Handyman Saitou in Another World. Yen Press licensed the manga for English release, which was revealed at Anime NYC 2022. In October 2018, Kadokawa Shoten's ComicWalker website started serializing the series online. By December 23rd, 2022, it had been gathered into eight volumes.
Even though Saitou is a handyman with a wide range of skills, he deserves more recognition and compensation for his work. His supervisor dismisses him after he complains, saying he is readily replaceable. On his way home, Saitou is fatally struck by a vehicle, as if his luck had not already been the worst. Unexpectedly, Saitou is not killed; instead, he is taken to another realm.
There, he runs across a group of individuals trying to hire someone with Saitou's skill set, including the lady knight Raelza, the moonlight fairy Lafanpan, and the magician Morlock. Saitou helps his new friends in the party during their time together by using his knowledge, and he eventually gains the respect he never imagined was achievable. However, Saitou's presence could well serve as the spark that unites a varied ensemble of characters from many locations as they slowly piece together a destiny that has the power to alter this world drastically.
The protagonist of the Handyman Saitou in Another World series is Saitou. He is proficient in picking locks and fixing machinery because of his pre-reincarnation expertise and manual dexterity. The plot could be more interesting: Saitou, a handyman, is reborn on a new planet where, in contrast to his previous life, people treat him with far more respect. The narrative is set roughly six months following Saitou's transmigration, by which time he has essentially blended in with this other world. Like his local colleagues, he is an active participant in that environment. And for that reason, he's a main character worth caring about.
In contrast to Oldman Morlock, who is an overpowering, unlikable, extraordinary gentleman with tremendous magical abilities, this stranger has foreign talents and a worldview. The intriguing aspect of his experience is HOW and WHY he connects with the otherworld. Fortunately, he is a handyman—a master of none but a jack of all trades.
Although his abilities aren't really overpowering, they can become so because the environment he's in makes it possible for him to contribute significantly to his adventuring group. In addition to his many other talents, he has an exceptional talent for picking locks. Saitou and his actions are reasonably rational and realistic, much like the entire drama, which is refreshing to see in an isekai.
While some of the jokes hit hard, the first few episodes were the poorest since they were mainly comedy-based and featured disjointed skits for the characters. After that, the tale becomes plot-driven, and it becomes excellent. It underwent a 180-degree turn, but it ultimately worked out because of some moving backstories and strong character storytelling. The humor, the action, or the gore doesn't hold back.
The cast is ridiculous, yet they make up a solid ensemble of personalities. In addition to Saitou, we also have a mighty knight named Raelza, a healer fairy named Lafanpan, and an elderly magician named Morlock, who occasionally forgets his spells. In addition to being hilarious, their exchanges can also be incredibly emotional. They build beautiful connections and relationships that create fantastic dynamics because they are a close-knit group of people who care about one another.
On the other hand, it's always a breath of fresh air when the opponents have a story to tell rather than simply being wicked for the sake of being evil. The side characters and antagonists were also excellent since each character possessed a certain depth, more so than others.
The animation quality that C2C added in the most recent episodes amazed me. In those battles, there was some Sakuga that was stunning. For the bulk of the series, it wasn't the norm. It was alright but average until the significant fight at the conclusion. Perhaps they were saving money or resources. The artwork is excellent; it has a subdued color scheme with an intense fantasy feel. Additionally, character designs are good.
The OST, on the other hand, comes across as hit or miss. Not because the songs in question are subpar but because they serve as the show's theme music; listening to them brings me a range of emotions. This is because the songs are compatible with the program to varying degrees. Teary Planet sings the opening theme song, "kaleidoscope," while Konoco sings the closing theme song, "Hidamari no Saido" ("Sunny Spot's Saturation"). Nevertheless, Pro and Morley's performance might benefit from adding other pieces to this concert.
This anime will undoubtedly keep you delighted, whether you enjoy humor, action, a little romance, or restorative material. But take care—while romantic or wholesome moments are real, they might be a little on the mature side. Of course, it's a fantasy, but unlike others, I think this anime uniquely represents D&D. It's not entirely Dungeons & Dragons, but it's also not wholly rehashed generic material. Or, if it is, it has been done superbly. This series's most admirable aspect is balancing slice-of-life storytelling with just enough adventure and battle to keep things exciting. It is highly recommended! In the future, I want to see more programs similar to this.
