About Us

Pinned Up Ink is a wild, creative manifestation born from a lifelong love of art, early ‘80s cartoons, martial arts, monster movies, and the explosive action films that defined a generation. But nothing shaped us more than the arrival of anime on U.S. shores. As kids of the eighties, we traded anything for the latest Fist of the North Star VHS (yes, VHS), and rushed home to catch Americanized anime like Voltron, Tranzor Z (known as Mazinger Z in Japan), or G-Force/Science Ninja Team Gatchaman on TV. Everything changed with the release of Robotech in 1986—suddenly, animation wasn’t just for Saturday mornings. We discovered stories filled with love, anger, revenge, xenophobia, and loss—real themes that left a mark on our lives.

Today, those influences run through everything we do. We channel that energy into bold, anime-inspired art—on hoodies, t-shirts, mugs, pillows, and more—celebrating the legacy of classic and modern animation.
