Everyone enjoys the joy of living an adventurous life and playing fantasy games. Imagine falling asleep while playing your favorite game and waking up in the same virtual world you were in when you fell asleep. Wouldn't that be an incredible experience?
The anime series "Skeleton Knight in Another World" is based on the Enki Hakari light novel of the same name. "Studio KAI" and "HORNETS" created it. Katsumi Ono served as the show's director; Studio Kai and Hornets handled the animation; Takeshi Kikuchi oversaw the writing; Tōru Imanishi created the characters; and Eba and Tsubasa Ito handled the soundtrack. It was broadcast on AT-X, Tokyo MX, SUN, and BS11 from April 7th to June 23rd, 2022. The series is available on Crunchyroll outside of Asia. Muse Communication announced the license for South and Southeast Asia the day after the anime's announcement. The anime got an English dub, which Crunchyroll confirmed on April 11, 2022. On April 28th, the English version made its debut. This charming anime featured 12 episodes, each running for 23 minutes, and its main theme was Isekai. It is related to the action and fantasy genres. It received an R-17+ rating due to the profanity and violence.
Overlap has been publishing the light novel series by Ennki Hakari and KeG under the name Overlap Novels since June 25, 2015. The series is still going strong as of May 2021, with 10 volumes already published. Seven Seas Entertainment secured the license for the series on September 20th, 2018, and released the first volume on June 11th, 2019. The first chapter of Akira Sawano's manga adaptation was published in February 2017 in Overlap's Comic Gardo. Despite Akira's creation of the manga, KeG receives credit for the chapter. Overlap put together the different chapters into Tankbon volumes, and the first volume came out in August 2017. In September 2018, Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga series for a North American adaptation under the title "Skeleton Knight in Another World."
A man wakes up after drifting off while playing an online game and finds himself in the same realm as his in-game avatar, Arc. He doesn't take long to get used to his new surroundings, but he quickly finds that he is using the skeleton avatar that he selected when establishing his character, which causes him to cover his face to escape unwanted attention. To become an adventurer and accept missions to get money, Arc travels to the adjacent castle town of Luvierte. He goes on a crazy adventure, using his powerful skills to find new lands, steal from strange animals, and help people who are in trouble. Even though he seems to be doing good things, he could end up starting a big war that would change the course of the realm forever.
The primary protagonist of the "Skeleton Knight in Another World" series is Arc, later known as Arc Lalatoya. Arc's in-game persona resembles a knight, and he is decked out in silver full-body armor with white and blue shades and a black cloak that seems starry, as if it were carved out of the night sky. Usually, Arc is a calm and sensible man. He likes to travel and explore. He can be considered opportunistic since he's constantly trying to make more money. Yet that does not imply that he is avaricious. When faced with a crisis, Arc is ready to defend the moral course of action.
However, he is unable to experience powerful negative feelings due to his skeletal form. On the other hand, Ariane Glenys serves as both the primary female protagonist and deuteragonist. When the second prince, Dakares Ciciay Karlon Rhoden Vetran, violated the agreement between humans and elves, she was a Dark Elf who wanted to locate and free her fellow elves who had been caught and held as slaves by humans. Ariane is determined to use all means necessary to liberate her oppressed kin. She may be irritable and tend to boldly enter a situation without planning ahead or fully understanding it, endangering herself and her supporters in the process.
Chiyome, who was formerly known as Mia, is another one of the main female characters in the story. She was given the moniker "Chiyome" after becoming one of the Jinshin clan's six greatest fighters. She intends to locate and liberate her fellow Beastmen, who humans have captured and turned into slaves. Another of the series' main characters is Ponta. She is Arc's companion and a "Ventu-Vulpis," or Cottontail Fox, as it is most commonly known. Despite being a charming fox, Ponta is a notorious glutton who would ask her owner for each new treat that attracted her attention. Ponta is highly bright and able to adapt on the fly, despite her sometimes mischievous demeanor.
The most typical power trip Isekai has ever created has a twist this time around, since the main character in Skeleton Knight in Another World is a skeleton! Incredible. Arc would be the least intriguing figure in Isekai history if he weren't a skeleton; therefore, it's a clever pick. I have a hard time coming up with a single thing about Arc's personality apart from the fact that he talks too formally. Now, I want to stress that even if there are some parallels between this anime and "Overlord," such as the "stuck in the gaming" concept and the fact that both of the main protagonists are OP skeleton beings, I don't claim this anime is a rip-off or plagiarism of that work. Although initially appearing to be innocent and playful, both are rated R-17. Although it began like your typical isekai anime, the plot is also basic, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the program.
Because of the fairly mild usage of 3D CGI in Skeleton Knight, you might be hesitant to see the animated intimate scenes. Surprisingly, over the past ten years, CGI has significantly advanced to the point where it is not only passable but excellent in anime. Not only is the CGI in this anime flawless, but the animators are also eager to show off amusing and heartfelt comedic sequences. The anime frequently features well-executed background music, and the entrance theme is particularly memorable. "Aa, Waga Roman no Michi Yo" (Ah, My Romantic Road) by PelleK serves as the show's opening theme, while "Bokura ga Oroka da Nante Dare ga Itta" (Who Called Us Fools?) by DIALOGUE+ serves as the show's closing theme. Other than the opening sequence, which briefly took me off guard, I haven't found anything I dislike or didn't enjoy that much in this anime so far. This anime is undoubtedly worth seeing. I recommend this one!
