Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles
Do you believe in reincarnation? It might imply a fresh start or a second opportunity. If you recalled your prior life, how would you use the current opportunity to make the most of it? I hope I won't be doing the same thing all over again!
The anime version of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is directed by Osamu Yamasaki and animated by TMS Entertainment. Yamasaki, Mitsutaka Hirota, Megumu Sasano, and Yoshiko Nakamura wrote the scripts, Kyoko Yufu designed the characters, and Yasuyuki Yamazaki made the music.
The animation collaboration is credited to Wao World. The series was broadcast on TV Tokyo, BS Fuji, and AT-X from July 6th to September 21st, 2021. Crunchyroll announced an English dub on October 28th, 2021, which debuted on December 27th of the same year. On November 5, 2021, a second season was announced. This anime is based on the same-titled light novel series, and it includes 12 episodes, each lasting 23 minutes. It pertained to the action, adventure, drama, fantasy, and romance genres, with the themes of harem, isekai, and reincarnation. It is rated PG-13 for audiences aged 13 and up.
Yuri Kitayama wrote the light book, which Riv illustrated. Since October 2015, Hobby Japan has released twenty-three volumes under the HJ Bunko banner. J-Novel Club is the North American distributor for the light novels. The manga adaptation of Tenkla was posted online in parts from October 2016 to February 2017 on Hobby Japan's Comic Fire website. It was stopped because the artist's health was getting worse. Since July 2017, a second manga adaptation by Futago Minaduki has been online at the same site and collected into eight tankbon volumes. J-Novel Club also licensed the second manga adaptation in North America.
Amakawa Haruto is a young guy who died before reconnecting with his childhood crush, who had gone missing five years ago. While he was alive, he dedicated himself to bettering himself for a long time in order to be Ayase Miharu's ideal spouse. Ayase Mharu, the love of his life, disappeared. With no knowledge of her whereabouts and never having the heart to express his feelings, legend has it that when Amakawa died, a magic circle appeared under his corpse, and he was reborn as Rio Karasuki
Rio is an angry youngster out for vengeance after his mom was killed in front of him when he was just five years old. Thus we have two people with diametrically opposed origins and ideals. In some way, Haruto's memories and personality, which should have perished, are reborn in Rio's body. Rio's sense of self was unaffected by the fusion of her two bodies. Even though he has recollections of Haruto, he continues to identify as Rio.
Rio has decided to live in this new reality, even though it is strange that their memories and personalities have mixed. Together with Haruto's memories, Rio activates a "special power" that he hadn't known about before. If he uses it right, it will make his life better. But first, Rio witnesses the abduction of a royal from the Bertrum Kingdom, where he resides. He is then offered a scholarship at the Royal Academy, a school for the wealthy and powerful, after rescuing said royal. Being a poor orphan at a prestigious school is, of course, a very bad thing for him.
Amakawa Haruto was a Japanese college freshman who died in a car accident and came back to life as Rio, an orphan from Beltrant, the capital of the Beltrum Kingdom. Rio grew up vowing to get revenge for the death of his mother, but his attitude changed when he found his old memories. Rio's instructor and primary companion while attending the Beltrum Royal School was Celia Claire. She guided him on how to read and write on his first day of school.
She and Rio spent a lot of time in her lab together, and she eventually developed feelings for him. Rio's contracted spirit is Aishia, who will do whatever it takes to make sure Haruto is happy. Endo Suzune was an elementary school kid who died on the same bus as Haruto and Rikka and was reborn as Lafitfa, a young fox beast-kin girl.
The main character is not a pathetic jerk, but he also doesn't make a big difference in how the story goes either. urred, and she had been living in the Bunkyo district of Tokyo. After she passed away on that fateful day, she was reincarnated as Liselotte Cretia, the daughter of Duke Cretia, who ruled the Kingdom of Galarc.
The main character is not a pathetic jerk, but he also doesn't make a big difference in how the story goes either. This anime has no story, and the characters are never given any kind of growth or development. It was designed to be an isekai adventure anime, and that is exactly what it turns out to be. If, on the other hand, you get a kick out of following a "hero's journey" and finding out what a person is capable of and how they react to different situations, you are in for a treat when you watch this.
Because there are no characters who fall into the gray area, the majority of the supporting cast is one-dimensional. As a result, it is straightforward to determine who would be on the main character's side and who would be on the opposing side. As a result of this, it is far too simple to determine which of the characters are rivals, friends, or potential romantic interests.
TMS Entertainment must have thought: Let's put most of the funds into the characters' eyes and hair, making them appear fantastic, but leave the animation average! Upon seeing the battle sequences all throughout the series, the graphics are highly evident. All of them show the main character fighting powerful enemies in a very basic way.
Watch as his sword swings through the bodies of gigantic monsters and his hand-to-hand battles with formidable adversaries, making it clear that the animation for these scenes was done with a sheer lack of knowledge about the way the body cooperates with such fluid movement. So, the fights feel uninspired and unprofessional, which goes against how hard (or easy) the MC is supposed to find them. I found it amusing that, after asking if he could go faster, the video zoomed out to show him casually jogging!
The opening theme song, "New story," is performed by Marika Kouno, while the closing theme song, "Elder flower," is performed by Aguri nishi. The Audio department is overall fine, with nothing really standing out as much.
This is a nice, relaxing watch, even if the story is terrible and everything is the same for some people. So if you're looking to watch an anime with zero context of how anything occurred and with a generic storyline and an overall generic Isekai anime, this is the one for you.
Overall, it's a great show; I'm not going to sugarcoat it since it's practically every Isekai anime, and it has every cliché moment conceivable within. Don't let the negative reviews stop you from giving this a try. While I’m not recommending this anime for everyone, it might be a nice watch for beginners.
