The series progresses in two-episode mini-arcs up until the satisfying finale. The episodic feel just goes away after some time as they all neatly come together towards the end. This anime is highly recommended, but be warned that it is pretty dark, detailed, and complicated, so prepare to work your brain cells! Overall, DTB is extremely interesting and entertaining, especially for fans of the genre.

The series is recommendable to fans of the Romance and Drama genres, but certainly not for Action genre fans. If this type of anime strikes your fancy, Sola is definitely a good watch.
If you’re in it for the fanservice, though, there is a chance that you would enjoy it as an extremely casual watch. Compared to this, the sequel series “Vandread: The Second Stage” is much better. It features some decent character development and a good plot too.
